Dr. Jason Stumbo
Director
of Bands
Dr. Jason Stumbo is in his fourth year as the Director of Bands
at The University of Toledo, where he is conductor of the Wind
Ensemble, teaches courses in conducting, orchestration, and
music education, and directs all aspects of the UT band program.
Dr. Stumbo received the B.S. in Music Education in 1992, then
taught several years in the public schools before returning for
the M.M. in Conducting from the University of Tennessee at
Knoxville. He continued his studies at the University of
Missouri, earning a Ph.D. in Music Education.
Dr. Stumbo is an active adjudicator,
clinician, and conductor, whose career has recently expanded to
include instructional clinics and presentations throughout Ohio,
at the University of Georgia, and the Young Conductor’s
Development Program in New South Wales, Australia.

Color Guard Instructor
Natina Hall is a 2004 graduate of The University of Toledo with
a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. She is originally from
Louisville, Ohio, where she twirled for three years with her
high school band. She was a member of the UT flagline from
1999-2003. This is currently her 9th year with the Rocket
Marching Band. In addition to spinning a flag, Natina also plays
saxophone. |
Sarah Sidebottom

Dancing Rock-ets Instructor
Sarah
Sidebottom is graduating from UT this spring with her bachelors
degree in nursing. She was a member of the Dancing Rock-ets from
2004-2007. Originally from New Bremen, Ohio, she began dancing
at the age of 7. Sarah attended Rhonda's School of Dance for 10
years where they received top honors at many nationally-ranked
competitions, including invitations to dance at the Macy's
Thanksgiving Day Parade. |

Dave Tippett
Wind Program Coordinator
Dave Tippett is a widely-respected Jazz Ensemble and Marching
Band Clinician for numerous festivals throughout the U.S. His
involvement in the Drum and Bugle Corps activity has spanned
over 28 years of experience, serving The Cadets, Glassmen,
Carolina Crown, and Star of Indiana, as music consultant, brass
caption head, and brass specialist, and most recently as Brass
Caption Head for the Capital Regiment (Columbus, OH) in 2002. He
has also served as Director of the Toledo Jazz Orchestra and
assistant director of the Rocket Marching Band. |
Alex Yeager
Announcer
Alex Yeager had never been to a UT
football game when we won an audition to become the Rocket
Marching Band announcer for the 1991 football season. Alex is a
graduate of the College of Arts and Communication, and worked
for 15 years for a marketing research company. He currently
works for Mayfair Games, a traditional board and card game
company as a project manager and educational outreach. Alex
lives in Ypsilanti MI with his wife Julie, who he proposed to
from the 50-yard line during halftime of the 1994 UT-BG football
game (attendance 31,613). |
